Work Your Way is a GCEX initiative that provides young men with the opportunity to travel and experience different cultures but with the added benefit of working to cover some of your travelling expenses. It is a high pace, high impact, challenging you beyond your comfort zones as you link up with and serve local missionaries in differnt nations. Global Challenge Expeditions is a wineskin for God in which young leaders are discipled. It provides a playing field for young adults to experience life-changing challenges in an adventurous journey. GCEX was born out of a strange and wonderful mission trip with young South Africans to Bosnia and Herzegovina. We could not fly directly into Bosnia and Herzegovina and spent two weeks to reach our destination. We needed to trust God in so many different ways and saw Him make a way for us each time. This is when God started placing thoughts in my mind about a travel-based discipleship/leadership program. Another Scripture that is at the core of our movement is from Job. Our desire is that the things that counted for God in Job’s life, will be imparted in a generation that will once again become people of integrity, who fear God and run away from evil. We believe in developing servant leaders who will be hardworking and selfless. Leaders who will passionately share how being followers of Jesus Christ will impact one’s life. It facilitates real life issues and helps participants to have a global perspective and a deeper understanding of the complexities of life. We travel around the world following a God-seeking lifestyle. We believe in a surrendered, joyful, down-to-earth, teachable and adventurous generation to become true servant leaders of this age. We restore character-building, integrity and the fear of God in this generation. That people across the globe will partake in the vision of GCEX. GCX-One Year (Northbound and Southbound) Travelling around the globe, teams will race against each other and together they will serve, minister, explore and discover the heart of God. Visit places where God is truly working, be amazed by His creation and fellowship with other believers. We celebrate the goodness of God as students enter the doors of Global Leadership Academy for the first time! Global Challenge is building a school, and here follows a short overview of the progress made. The first two classrooms are nearing completion with windows and doors already installed. Progress on the roof is being made, with classrooms 7-12 currently in the process of being covered. Students participating in this years Global Challenge Expedition, joined forces with students from our high school, GLA, to finish work set out for them during training. It is exactly 12 months since the first sod on the new school grounds at Global Leadership Academy, a stone's throw from Fountains Mall was moved. The building project is progressing well with twelve of the 25 classrooms reaching roof level, the others reaching window sill height. The GLA Eco Campus Project has steadily progressed towards roof level. Literally; our hundred hearts fundraising project provided for the building of all the foundations in the first phase of the overall design, as well as the concrete floors for 16 classrooms. We are excited to announce the laying of the first bricks during the construction of the GLA Eco Campus. More than 100 Cubes of Aggregate to be used in Foundations has been donated to us!
